Power Commanders offer sophisticated engine management for your machines, with a wide range of accessories, easy installation, and a great price. Power Commanders work by adjusting the amount of fuel sprayed by your fuel injectors, using a multi-level map system. Using throttle position and engine rpm, the Power Commander can add extra fuel, or remove fuel, when compared to the stock map on the ecu. The purpose is to smooth out the air/fuel ratio and bring it closer to a smooth, even and consistent ratio. The result is improved throttle response, better acceleration, and smoother engine operation when compared to stock. Adjustments to the map can be done with a USB cable and a laptop computer, or on a dyno with sophisticated mapping software to produce a custom map for your machine with it's exhaust, intake and other modifications.
