Frame sliders typically mount to one of your engine mounts and offer protection to your frame, fairing, and engine in the event of a crash. Every crash is unique, and frame sliders are not a guarantee your machine will not suffer damage, but they can help tremendously. Many do not require fairing modifications for installation, but some do. Billet brackets are included with some kits to relocate the slider away from the fairing to avoid drilling or cutting modifications.
