Cylinder sleeving involves removing existing sleeves or liners, and installing new sleeves and any machine work required to ensure a perfect install. Sleeves are used for big bore piston installations, as well as for repairing / replacing damaged sleeves when the block and cases are still serviceable. Many late model engines do not use sleeves, and require boring and re-plating instead.
