Removing the stock counter balancer shaft in the stock GSXR 1000 motor can save nearly 600g of rotating weight! The stock unit weighs 675g, and this lightweight billet aluminum piece from APE weighs only 94 grams - that's a savings of 581g. Fully precision CNC machined to close tolerances for a perfect fit. There is no point in keeping the heavy counterbalancer mechanism in the crankcase for a race motor. You can replace the entire balancer assembly with this lightweight billet aluminum "dummy" shaft. Remove the stock assembly and insert this shaft in its place. The shaft and o-rings block all oil passages. Fits 2001-2008 GSXR 1000 motors only.
